I Have a Visioneer 7600 Scanner and would like to install it on my Dell 4300s computer w/Windows Xp/Cocut 9. Can I plug the scanner into the dongle or plug the scanner into the Parallel port on the Computer and plug the dongle into the Scanners Parallel port(Used to connect a printer) I have been told that this could damage the Dongle. The scanners installation instructions say that the scanner must be plugged directly to the computer. Thanks for your help.

Plug the scanner into the dongle and the dongle directly to the computer. This could not damage the dongle.
