Question:

Betreff: Upgraded to XP CoCut window opens but does not cut | Name: Charles (cns@twlakes.net) | 22.10.2003 07:11:48

Just bought a new computer with Windows XP. Installed Corell 9 and CoCut 9 with service patch. Corel is linked properly to CoCut. When I click on the cut icon in Corel, CoCut opens shows the selected objects to be cut, allows cut speed etc. to be adjusted, preview window works but when I hit the final cut button nothing happens. Plotter is installed to COM 1. If I select the print icon in Corel instead of the CoCut icon it will cut but nothing happens with Cocut. Im sure I have a setting that is incorrect but I cant seem to locate it. Please let me know how to fix this.

Thanks

From what I can tell, Win XP and Corel/CoCut do not play well together. I had the same setup, but used USB for plotter. Ended up with Corel 11 and CoCut 11. Seems to work fine now, but I did have issues. Sorry, but hope it helps.

WinXP SP2 is the problem with CoCut 9. Running SP1 works, but MS is going to force you to upgrade to SP2 soon.

Wow. Didnt notice that your post was that old. SP2 does break Co-Cut 9.

I ran around in circles as well with XP sp2 and CoCut9 using Illustrator 10. I kept getting a "Insufficient system resource" message on my Dell D610 w/2gb of RAM. Now Im trying to install Office 2007 and it says I need to have sp2 installed first, it may be time to upgrade to the latest Cocut, but I like my CC9 and ease of use.
